Notes From the Road
10-28-08 Is It November 4th Yet? I Hear That Train A Comin....
What a great summer it was here in Taos as well as out at the various festivals and gigs. Kerrville Wine and Music Festival was awesome as ever. Especially after 8 years away. I was spared Hurricane Gustav by one day and managed to get my scheduled flight home... very sorry for those who were not so lucky.
It's been a great summer and fall of playing music and mountain biking. if I had it to do over again I would... and hopefully will... next summer.
Been staying busy with my two remaining ensembles (down to just two!)... the duo with Patrick Turnmire on percussion and The Lugnuts, also with Patrick in addition to singer/bassist Jim Bradley. The Lugnuts continue to play the first Sunday of each month at the Taos Inn (where last month's guest artists included Bogey and Tenney Walsh) and the duo with Patrick is playing every Thursday at the Hungry Gator, Mike Unkel's awesome cajun joint.
I voted early and am very excited about seeing some major changes in the White House, Congress and in the United States' domestic and foreign policies. Not a day too soon. I'm for change and this time around for me that means Obama/Biden. In Taos we call it "Obamanos". My sincere condolences to those whose candidates lose on November 4th and I will be feeling very sorry if that's me! Peace to you all. DonCon - Taos
